Below are some of our most commonly asked questions. If you have any questions about K9 & You or our programs that we did not answer here, we encourage you to call.

Is my puppy too young to train?

We’ve found that many puppies are ready and willing to train around eight weeks of age. In fact, this is the best time to get started. You can prevent any behavioral issues from developing in the future.

Is my dog too old to receive effective training?

We know they say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but that’s not true. Whether your dog is two years or twelve, we are certain we offer a training program that will work for your dog.

Should I send someone else with my dog if I cannot attend class?

No, unless this person has been attending all previous classes. We focus on strengthening the bond between the dogs and the owners. Inviting someone else to bring your dog will probably confuse the stand-in, and your dog will likely be stressed and unfocused.

What should I wear to class?

Just make sure you are comfortable. Low-heeled shoes and flexible clothing are best when working with your dog.

I’ve heard a lot of advice about dog training. Who should I listen to?

Our professionals have spent years learning the proper methods of training dogs in a positive, loving manner that produces well-mannered and happily obedient dogs. Many people have an opinion on how dogs should be trained, but please take the advice of our trainers. We would be happy to help you with any individual advice you may need.
